Just wanna note that I learned something new about Substack today, which is that it will repost things "for" you in some cases. I'm not sure how I feel about that, because I am accustomed to posting original content every Monday, and I wanted to post "it's Monday morning somewhere" today because I'm on vacation and I thought it was a funny allusion to "it's 5:00 somewhere" ... I guess that if you post consistently on a given day, Substack will fill in the dots and find some other recent post to post on that day, but it doesn't make me super happy in this case. I want my content to be exactly what I want it to be, which is what I thought I was getting with Substack. In this case, it offered something kinda clever that "worked" for the day (though it did get the day wrong - it says Wednesday in the subline), but it also distracted from what I was trying to achieve. Maybe I'm being overly critical of this free-range platform for creative content, but I also care about where I purchase my eggs and meat. I kinda wanna meet the farmers myself, and I am willing to overpay for the eggs, but in this case I feel like one of the Founding Mothers whose story was pushed just slightly underground. Maybe our FMs didn't care that much, but I bet Hannah Callowhill would wanna speak in my defense. ;) Even if it's just 'cause we share the same first name.
